Do I need solar, a battery and an EV?
You don’t need all three. The value and available features depend on your home and supported connections. Check your setup above before starting; battery automation requires a supported inverter, and vehicle control currently uses the Tesla vehicle integration.
Can I use GridIQ with my electricity retailer?
GridIQ can plan using Amber dynamic pricing or a confirmed residential tariff, including supported flat, time-of-use and free-period structures. Entering a tariff does not connect your retailer account or switch your electricity plan.
Will GridIQ control my devices straight away?
Preview Mode lets you review plans without plan-driven battery or vehicle control. Full Automation requires you to enable it and complete the relevant permissions and device readiness checks.
What if I already have a VPP or battery controller?
Check who currently controls your battery. A VPP or competing controller must release battery control before the FoxESS connection is used for GridIQ control. This is separate from your electricity retail plan. Contact us if you’re unsure.
What happens after the 30-day trial?
Choose a subscription at AUD 9.99 per household per month to continue the full experience. If you don’t subscribe, the Free plan retains Energy Map and Settings, and history keeps collecting. Detailed history, Smart Planning, Mia and automation are not included in Free.
Does GridIQ guarantee savings?
No. Outcomes depend on your household usage, weather, tariff, equipment, settings and data availability. GridIQ helps coordinate energy timing and explain decisions; it does not promise a particular saving or charging outcome.
